FOLLOW ME, AND I WILL MAKE YOU FISHERS OF MEN. Matthew 4. 19-25

Today, there are serious and dire needs of men to serve God among men.

There are unreached people everywhere. From cities to villages, there are quite some numbers of men without the 'true' gospel.

There are people who are thirsty and hunger for righteousness. But, there are lack of men to feed them.

Fields are ripe everywhere waiting for harvest. Yet, there are lack of men.

The lack of men is not due necessarily to the lack of available men. But the lack is that of MADE MEN.

Many today want to serve and be used of God. But only few are ready to WAIT on God. Seriously, many harvesters are in the field. But few men has been assigned duties. Some others are working on their own pleasures

The fact is this:

1. FOLLOW ME... God doesn't bring men into His service unless He bid them first to FOLLOW HIM.  (VS 19). You must be called to think of answering or responding. No matter the lack of men and the ripped harvest. No one is qualified to attempt God's service without listening first to the eternal call.

Do you think of anyone carrying out divine assignment without responding to the call to serve?

2. AND I WILL MAKE YOU... No one is qualify for the service until he has been MADE by God. He has to go through the process of refining, testing and making to be fit for the service. (VS 19). There will be a time when everyone called of God must answer this: “Who made you ruler and judge over us?" Exodus 2: 14. Can you at this time answer this question?

No one trained himself. Every man who has desire to make impact in his time must submit himself to the training and corrections of another.

3. AND THEY STRAIGHTWAY LEFT THEIR NETS...(VS 20). There must be something to abandon. It is LEAVING to CLEAVING.

A lazy man will quickly jump at any offer. This is the reason why God needs an engaged man. He must consider what he is leaving to the joy of cleaving to the uttermost call.

Yet, an engaged man must voluntarily yield his neck, abandon his pleasure and loose his ego. He must let go what he know how to do and surrender to the training of making into FISHERS OF MEN.

4.... AND FOLLOWED HIM (VS 20). They were not called to walk in their own path and follow their own plan. They must strictly FOLLOW HIM. They must yield themselves to the training of a new master. And here, there is no possibility of a time when they would be asked to follow their own desires or the path of someone else.

In Vs 21 & 22, the calling and requirements for following assumed the same procedure as above. There is no need to lower the standard of the MAKING in view of someone's experiences, age, colour and status. They were simply to FOLLOW and be MADE.

5. They were to start with observing. AND JESUS WENT ABOUT ALL GALILEE, TEACHING... PREACHING...HEALING...It is important to observe that, it was Jesus who was doing all the teaching, preaching and healing all forms of diseases alone. He doesn't make the mistake of engaging an untested and unmade hands. He must make them to wait until they are MADE.

6. They must keep observing, clapping and witnessing their Master's fame went throughout the land until their appointed them.

These processes are important in their making and sending into the field.

One thing is sure in Vs 25, the CALLED are different from the multitudes.

The called have rules to follow and cannot observe and keen on their path unlike the multitudes. They must follow strictly their Master and yield themselves voluntarily as one that is set apart for greater service.
