THE TURNING POINT

THE TURNING POINT

When she saw that she was stedfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her. Ruth 1:18

Sin is not the only indices God used in separating between the good and the bad, the prosperous and the beggar. Sometimes, God works through our personal decision to make the separation.

For instance, in Matthew 25, there was the instance of the fool and the wise virgins . But all were virgin and chaste.

They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them. Matthew 25:3. The foolish virgin doesn't desire extra burden. They felt it was enough to be chaste and virgin to meet the Lord.

However, the wise took extra oil in their vessels with their lamps. Matthew 25:3-4. The wise ones saw the need to "add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 2 Peter 1:5-7.  They felt the need to add more and that virginity wasn't enough virtue to eternally dine with the King.

This decision was all the separation that ensures one meet with the Master and other was missing inspite of their commendable preparations.

When Orpah kissed Naomi and turned, she took the decision into forgetfulness and oblivion. She lost her place in the scheme and agenda of God. Ruth begged Naomi never to allow her to leave her. When Naomi saw her tenacity and conviction, she would no longer persuade her to go. This was the singular decision that launched her into limelight and instrument to birth salvation for humanity.

Imagine the praises and prayers of Boaz to Ruth:

"And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore. The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust". Ruth 2:11-12

It doesn't sound wise and convenient when Boaz bought and redeemed the field of Elimelech and as such bore the responsibility of marrying Ruth, a moabitess. The rightful kinsman refused and rejected the offer to redeem and married the 'hopeless' Ruth. But Boaz took the great decision. And such was the blessing of eternal generation; for Christ came through this gallant decision.

What decision are you taking?

How convince are you about your choice?

Do you have all it takes to be consistent in your convictions?

No man would assume into God's agenda until he takes deliberate decision to be different from others.
