THE DYNAMICS OF DIVINE PROVISIONS
LAnd it came to pass after a while, that THE BROOK DRIED UP, because there had been no rain in the land' 1 Kings 17. 7.
God had through Elijah gave a judgemental prophecy against Israel: THERE SHALL NOT BE DEW NOR RAIN THESE YEARS...
However, God must protect and provide for His servant through the famine. Therefore, the Lord instructed Elijah to go and hide himself at Brook Cherith. There, the Lord fed him through ravens and gave him water through the Brook.
But, after a while, the brook dry up. What?
Why would the brook dry up in the presence of Him who created the heavens and the earth?
Was it not God who gave instructions to Elijah to go to the brook for protection and provision?
Why would the brook dry up.and presumably opened up Elijah to the assailant and hunger?
Sincerely, God's provision should not end a dried up as if it were that God is helpless and can't control nature.
But the truth is this, God deliberately allowed the brook to dried up because He was opening for the prophet a new provision and protection. And this is greater than the brook that dried.
When the brook dried, God was granting provision for the widow of Zarephath to be blessed.
Did you remembered that the MANNA, the divine provisions on which the Israelites depended on for forty years ceased: "And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year" Joshua 5: 12.
WHY DOES GOD ALLOWED THE BROOK DRY UP AND THE MANNA CEASED?
1. We must depend on God daily not on the abundant provisions we already have.
2. Sometimes, God desires that we work rather than depending and salivating on miraculous provisions
3. God gives miraculous when there is no natural means of having provisions. This means, we are in the desert, helpless and deserted and the only means of making it is supernatural.
4. The dried brook and the ceased manna is the end of one situation and circumstances. Then, He will begin to open a new chapter for us. It is a means of transitioning.
Has your brook dried and the manna ceased? Don't be troubled. God is opening a new chapter for you.
The brook never dry and manna ceased until there is GREATER and BETTER provisions.
You're in your PROMISED LAND.
