 A SCARY GLORY


Also before the throne there was something that looked like a sea of glass, as clear as crystal. In front of the throne and on each side of it there were four living beings. They had eyes all over them, in front and in back. [7] The first living being was like a lion. The second was like a bull. The third had a face like a man. The fourth was like a flying eagle. [8] Each of these four living beings had six wings. They were covered all over with eyes, inside and out. Day and night they never stopped saying, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God All-Powerful. He always was, he is, and he is coming." [9] These living beings were giving glory and honor and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, the one who lives forever and ever... Revelation 4:6-9


Imagine the description of these living beings: 


1. look like lion

2. look like a bull

3. a face like a man (an exception to the other three)

4. look like a flying eagle


More so, they all

1. Has six wings each

2. were covered with eyes inside and out. 


God forbid that we should meet any of these beings anywhere without been shivered to foundations. 


However, we read that these beings were PRAISING GOD. GIVING GLORY TO GOD AND HONOURING HIM. This is really unimaginable! How could they carry such 'unfortunate' figure and yet praising God. They were made scary but were meant to praise and honour God. 


Seriously, there are several scary situations in our lives which is ultimately meant to glorify God. It doesn't appear wise and beautiful inside and out. But God meant it for good. 


Joseph went through this scary and unpleasant periods. But he told his brethren, "It is true that you planned to do something bad to me. But really, God was planning good things. God's plan was to use me to save the lives of many people. And that is what happened" Genesis 50:20


Sit tight and watch how God is bringing transformation into your situation. Life shall come out of the dead.

I woke up this morning reading a lot of social media posts about the selected dates and days for the ORO festival in the part of the country where I live. ORO is a secluded cultic 'religious' activity. Traditionally, it involves mature males and initiated participants. Women are forever banned from witnessing it, except for hearing it from inside (ETI L'OBIRIN FI NGBO OHUN ORO). Nobody reveals the activities in public. You keep what you see and know to yourself. Nobody exchanges pleasantries about what happened the day before in public. During this time, men do all they can, including appearing like the first Adam in the garden. Some were ecstatic, praising God for doing such a wondrous thing. However, others opined that such an acclaimed conversion is nothing but a business tactic. They argued that his affiliation with the Celestial Church indicates that he is merely religious and pretentious about his faith in Christ.  The children of Israel came into the Land of Promise as a conglomerate of twelve tribes. They needed unity to reach that point. But once they arrived in Canaan, each tribe had to take possession of its own inheritance. What you take is what you get. At this stage, collective effort would not suffice—each tribe needed to claim and secure its portion for future generations. God had already given clear instructions regarding what must be possessed: “For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off...
